Let the Rain Fall Down

Yesterday, I went out of town for the night. Not far, mind you, we only had to drive about and hour to get to our destination. (Well, and another 45 minuts for the other one...but we didn't stay there overnight)
Around 5:00 it started to rain. Just a sprinkling at first, but then after a while it turned into practically a downpour. Then came the thunder and lightning. It was a wonderfully stormy, yet pretty warm night.
We decided to go and hear my dad's friend give a short speech about the DAC and what was going on with it kind of thing. (DAC = Detroit Annual Conference, fyi.)
Anyway, afterward, it was still downpouring. Only my mom had brought a jacket, and we had one umbrella. I, being me, simply stepped out into te rain and started walking toward the car as if it was the most normal thing in the world. As I walked on with my brother, who had followed my example, two older women passed us.
"Ahh, to be young and not care." one of them remarked as I passed. I smiled.
"Some people feel the rain, some people just get wet" I said to myself, remembering the phrase that walking in the rain has brought about so many times.
I enjoy just getting wet. I enjoy being young and apathetic.
I know that life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
So, if you see some girl walking through the pouring rain and having the time of her life: that's proably me.
Come dance with me next time. ♥
