Just Something to Ponder...

I was listening to one of my favorite radio stations, K-Love, and had sort of tuned out, as I was reading at the same time. When I paused my reading to listen for the next song, I heard one of the hosts say, "I love what he [the man who had been talking just prior] said...Let's be known for what we're for, not what we're against."
Though he was talking about the church in general, it's not very hard to apply that to individuals. It got me thinking.
Are we, by default, known for the things we oppose? It seem to me that "He's against homosexuality" or "She is anti-evolution" or even "They'll never do that, they're totally against it" are all too familiar statements.*
What about "He's all about Jesus" or "She loves honesty" or "They can't get enough of kindness and compassion"? Why do those sound like unusual statements? Or maybe that's just me?
Why must we be described as
Against...
Anti-....
Opposed to...
and not
For...
Pro-...
All about...?
Maybe it just goes back to that glass-is-half-full thing. Negative versus positive.
Maybe not.
I don't know about you, but I think I'd rather have someone describe me with the words "She's all about love and peace and kindness..." than "She's totally against smoking and drugs", even though both those statements are accurate. (Although, in some cases, I'm sure that saying the latter would be more beneficial...but I didn't want to go into touchy areas, that's not what this post is about.)
